Now is the Future
That the Past couldn’t Predict.
Trust the Uncertain

"Hooper is a Cornish painter, not just in origin and subject matter but also in tradition. This tradition is deeply rooted in the St Ives group of artists from the immediate post-war period…….Hooper is concerned with the mechanics that create his landscape; the forces that contribute both directly and more obliquely to his experience of that landscape. In this sense Hooper’s are process paintings: of process and about process…. … these are not narrative or history paintings; they have no particularised story to tell, they are not prescriptive. Instead these paintings convey the idea that landscape is something to be in, to be experienced, and not simply to be observed...
These are Edgescapes."
